SATELLAI Go APP Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 17 October, 2025
At SATELLAI, we respect the privacy rights of all individuals—including users in the United States and the European Economic Area (EEA)—and strive to make privacy transparent and accessible for our mobile app users. We collect and use information only in compliance with applicable laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for U.S. residents and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for EEA residents.
This Privacy Policy explains how we manage your personal information for products and services provided by SATELLAI ("we", "our" or "us"), including the SATELLAI Go App and its bundled products (e.g., SATELLAI Collar Go, SATELLAI Collar).
1. Scope & Applicable Laws
This Policy applies to personal information processed through our mobile applications, services, and products. It adheres to:
For U.S. residents: The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other relevant U.S. state privacy laws.
For EEA residents: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
Definition of "personal information":
Under CCPA: Any information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked (directly or indirectly) to a particular consumer or household.
Under GDPR: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ("data subject"); an identifiable person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier, or one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that person.
2. When & How We Collect Personal Information
We collect personal information in two ways: information you actively provide ("Data you give") and information we automatically collect through your use of our services ("Data we collect").

3.3 Special Note for EEA Residents (GDPR)
We do not collect special categories of personal data (as defined by GDPR)—including data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, or data concerning health or sex life—unless explicitly necessary and with your explicit consent. Pet-related data is not considered "special category data" under GDPR, as it relates to your pet (not a data subject) but may be linked to you (the data subject). However, we acknowledge that pet data (e.g., activity, location, health) is closely linked to you, the pet owner. We process this data with the same care and in accordance with the data minimization and security principles outlined in this Policy, to prevent unwarranted profiling or inference about you as an individual.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR Requirement)
For EEA residents, we process your personal information only on valid legal bases under GDPR, which include:
Consent: You have given explicit consent for the processing of your personal information for a specific purpose (e.g., enabling location tracking, receiving marketing emails). You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 7).
Performance of a contract: Processing is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you (e.g., providing pet tracking services, managing your SATELLAI Go App account).
Legitimate interests: Processing is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party), and your interests or fundamental rights do not override these interests. Legitimate interests include:
Improving our products/services (e.g., troubleshooting app issues).
Preventing fraud or ensuring the security of our services.
Managing advertising (with your consent for direct marketing).
Legal obligation: Processing is necessary to comply with a legal requirement (e.g., responding to a lawful request from a public authority).
